Japan-Cool & Tool Station
Armed with all our inventory, Japan-Cool had an extensive range of Mecha model kits, alongside Tool Station retailing clippers, files, paints and more. With the option to build at once, some kits were instantly transported to one of the two Gunpla Build Community Areas with a build mat waiting for the attendee’s soon-to-be Mecha creation. Whether a snap-fitter or a customiser, every method was catered for.
The mutual highlight for everyone was experiencing the fan-driven vibe mirrored to that of our exhibition stall at Comic-Cons, where the Con-goers beside you can also discuss their favourite kits or series in depth. Since being around fellow builders is a rare opportunity, especially to the extent of an entire venue, it was great to see new friends forming in a space dedicated to the fandom.
Fuelled with the energy of the waitresses from Otaku Café, the Gundam Café was a favoured spot for guests to re-energise. Incorporating elements of a maid café, such as polaroids and games, customers drew their most liked Mecha or character. Alongside a chance to read Gundam Manga at each table, and an exclusive Gundam Café-inspired Menu with the Federation Girls ready to take your order at your command (the BrightBurger being a popular choice!). The dresses were also an exclusive to this event, renovating the pink Federation jacket which appear in the Gundam animé series, and an instant love to the Officers that wore them.
Artist and creator of the gripping comic-series ‘Renegade Pilot’, Matthew Clarke exhibited his latest issue (#3) with a chance to grab the first two if you haven’t already. We were also lucky to have limited-edition G-Con 2016 artwork. Click here for our interview to find out all about Matt and his work. | DeviantArt | Twitter |
New to art but equipped with extreme potential, Raiadonis made his debut with five striking and minimal Gundam digital artwork prints. Additionally, you could also get an Animé/Manga self-portrait of yourself in a character’s outfit of your choice. If you like what you see, show your support and follow his Facebook & Instagram.
A massive thank you to those who displayed their kits for the Gunpla Museum.
